Availity is seeking a knowledgeable Cloud Database Administrator III to manage our company’s cloud-based databases. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain secure, high-availability database systems in compliance with healthcare regulations (e. g.
, HIPAA, HITECH). This role is critical to ensuring data integrity, security, and performance across our cloud platforms. Sponsorship, in any form, is not available for this position.
Location: Remote, US Role qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 4+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on cloud environments.
Proficiency with AWS required. Experience with other cloud platforms preferred (Azure, GCP). Experience managing large fleets of AWS RDS and Aurora databases in active production systems.
Experience with SQL query language required. NoSQL experience would be nice. Strong understanding of database security practices and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, PCI DSS).
Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Scripting skills (e. g.
Python, Terraform) for automation and DevOps support. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Relevant certifications (e.
