Cloud Engineer

Your Role and Responsibilities

• An IBM Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and managing scalable and secure cloud-based solutions for businesses.
• They possess expert-level knowledge of various cloud platforms, including IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Key responsibilities include migrating on-premises workloads to the cloud, optimizing application performance, ensuring data privacy and security, automating infrastructure deployment, and guiding stakeholders in adopting cloud practices.
• Additionally, IBM Cloud Engineers collaborate closely with architects, developers, and DevOps professionals to ensure seamless integration between cloud environments and on-premise systems.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably IBM Cloud)
• Familiarity with containerization technologies ( Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of serverless architectures and orchestration
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash)
• Version control system experience (Git)
• Understanding of security best practices and encryption methods
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform)
• DevOps methodologies and Agile workflows
• Data science and machine learning concepts
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approaches
• Container security and vulnerability scanning
• Networking and load balancing protocols
• Scripting proficiency in PowerShell, Perl, or Java
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
• Cloud certifications (IBM Certified Cloud Developer, IBM Certified Solution Architect etc.)
