The Cloud Platform Architect will develop and deliver AWS-based solutions with an initial focus on virtual product development using machine learning, devops, and data integration.
They will work in an SDLC environment with a global team of data scientists, engineers, and product managers who are creating and refining links between tire design and vehicle performance using machine learning and cloud-based solutions. Their tasks will include architecting and developing new solutions supporting machine learning operations and data integration, adding new software functionality to existing tools and cloud platforms, identifying and fixing software issues, delivering service requests, providing incident coverage, and deploying platform releases.
They must be able to use current technologies and methodologies (Agile, XP, or similar) with business subject matter to develop potential technical solutions. They will support the tire design and manufacturing processes in three different technical centers globally.
Primary Responsibilities
• Architect, design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting virtual tire development process. Leverage DevOps and ensure the reliability, security, scalability, and performance of cloud platforms and services.
• Manage python-based frameworks, tools, and support machine learning operations. Develop and optimize python-based pipelines and workflows for data ingestion, processing, transformation, and integration from various sources and formats.
• Establish and follow IT governance around citizen-developed solutions. Own the application acceptance process, communication, cost control and technical roadmaps.
• Perform troubleshooting and investigation activities as it relates to technology incidents/outages/bugs. Develop break-fix solutions to problems involving causes that are not obvious. Identify and respond to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors that do not have a known cause. Provide advice and implement secure technical solutions necessary to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems. Write and maintain all documentation supporting primary area of responsibility.
• Investigate and report on latest information technologies, techniques and processes that could digitally enable business strategies. Increase breadth and depth of technical knowledge by expanding knowledge base.
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8-9 or more years of experience in Information Technology.
• Hands-on, solid experience with Kubernetes, AWS and Terraform.
• Strong experience working with DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipelines (ideally GitHub toolset).
• Proficient in Python programming and scripting, with solid knowledge of Python libraries and frameworks.
• Experience with Web Development (REST API, node.js, react, javascript), and machine learning.
• Understanding of complex authentication, networking, and cyber security topics.
• Experience in working with data engineering-related technologies and processes such as SQL, ETL, etc.
