JOIN THE TEAM

The Advanced Imaging product team enhance the research and development activities by providing image analysis workflows. Our vision is to bring AI solution with images around BASF and we aim to be the reference group for image analysis. You will combine your experience as data scientists on computer vision and software development to provide AI solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will guide and support our research chemists, biologists and agronomists on modern imaging workflows.
  • You will be responsible for projects in any of these fields and closely co-operating with R&D, engineering, central functions, and business units. 
  • You will be updated of the current AI solutions for computer vision
  • You will communicate ideas and solutions for high-performance computing and big data technology to a broad community of scientists and developers. 
  • You will develop proof-on-concepts and innovative tools within a dynamic team
  • You will also establish and maintain collaborations with academic research groups in that domain while evaluating new approaches and exploring new application opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in computer science or engineering a master in artificial intelligence or advanced Imaging.
  • A PhD background or several years in research will be appreciated
  • Minimum 6 years of work experience in the analysis of complex structured and unstructured data such as images and 3 years of software development.
  • You have experience with deep learning techniques, classic machine learning and computer vision algorithms to build and deploy image-based decision support algorithms
  • You are fluent in Python and you master deep learning frameworks such as tensorflow and/or Pytorch.
  • You have experience with DVC and MLOPS ▪ You have experience in Java and Backend-programming
  • You master docker and docker-compose ▪ Fluent with GitLab, and using unit-testing and CI-CD pipelines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Team player

Nice to have:

  • Experience in SpringBoot
  • Familiarity in Front end with Angular
  • Familiarity with imaging uses cases in chemical industry, especially with SEM images
