Introduction to role

As part of AstraZeneca’s Employee Experience improvement focus, Enabling Units are pioneering the development and deployment of the Universal Services Experience platform (USE). The USE Enterprise Platform is AstraZeneca’s global Employee Virtual Assistant employing Movework’s Generative AI Copilot and a pre-trained AZ Large Language Model.” This platform empowers employees to improve self-service and self-support by leveraging IT, HR, and Finance support knowledge globally, enhancing employee efficiency and effectiveness. We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer – USE Platforms to join our dynamic CoE team. You will provide platform configuration, technical support, and maintenance of the USE platform and related applications/integrations.

Serve as an USE platform internal support engineer providing 2nd Line support (technical queries, releases, and changes relating to the USE Enterprise Platform) complying with AstraZeneca standards, processes, and change management procedures.

Ensure optimal performance and stability of USE platform and its integrations with the downstream Enterprise Platforms and/or data sources.

Have an understanding and work to ensure conformance with AstraZeneca’s AI Governance and ethical use policies.

Collaborate with stakeholders and data stewards to access key AstraZeneca knowledge sources for use in training AstraZeneca-specific Large Language Models.

Support and administer granular access management through role-based access control, allowing the AstraZeneca or trusted partner the right access to the right sources of knowledge with a short time to value.

Take ownership of incidents, problems, and changes through to delivery, resolution, or escalation as appropriate.

Experience in providing technical support, impact assessment, and backout planning of enterprise platform changes.

Configure the USE Platform, maintaining optimal performance, security, and license management.

Develop and support custom scripts, workflows, and integrations using the MoveWorks Creator tooling for the enterprise platform to enhance functionality and meet business requirements.

Provide hands-on technical support for assessments/POCs for new USE platform initiatives and features.

Take part in delivery activities, instigating Design/Build/Test/Deploy for regular releases and key USE platform initiatives.

Understand e2e MoveWorks’ conversational AI ecosystem providing technical support in configuring and customizing AZ USE platform as part of change or release management.

Provide the USE Platform and integration technical support for incident/problem resolutions and changes working on the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the USE platform.

Support consistency in alignment with AZ ECS/ETS and Enabling Units’ standards and processes.

Develop/Maintain an understanding of MoveWorks’ “Copilot for the Enterprise”, “Service Management For the Enterprise” and “Creator Studio”.

Support System Operations in monitoring e2e system health, performance, and usage metrics, recommending proactive measures to address potential technical issues.

Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, integrations, changes, and procedures.

Support continuous improvement opportunities within platform and product-level backlogs.

Support the USE Platform Owner and Senior Platform Engineer in the ongoing management of technical change, enhancing the platform in line with the USE Platform Roadmap.

Provide hands-on technical support of PoCs and Hackathons to prove out new insights/designs/technologies.

Essential Skills/Experience

– 2 – 4 years proven hands-on experience in IT support and software development
– An understanding of AI and Machine Learning / Deep Learning Principles
– Hands-on experience of training and fine-tuning generative models, the deployment and support of supervised, unsupervised, and transfer AI learning techniques.
– Awareness AWS and MS Azure Cloud Services and a broad understanding of their architectures/services
– Programming skills in languages such as JavaScript, Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, ScikitLearn or similar.
– Hands-on support experience of API integrations, RESTful services, MuleSoft, and web technologies.
– Have previous hands-on experience of building, deploying, and supporting AI solutions as APIs for use in applications.
– Experienced in data science practices. Cleansing, deduplication, evaluation, augmentation, and modeling of data in preparation for Analytics and Generative AI/ML
– Should be able to work collaboratively and efficiently with multiple teams in multiple geographies.
– Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure, resolving user queries, providing training sessions, and creating support materials.
– Good written and verbal communications skills
– Experience of working within a quality and regulatory environment, and application of policies, procedures, and guidelines.
– A proven understanding of cybersecurity principles as they apply to AI applications, implementing secure coding practices and ensuring data integrity
– Demonstrate awareness of the challenges of AI/ML in Bias, Hallucinations, and data privacy.

Desirable Skills/Experience

– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
– Experience in deploying and supporting a market-leading generative AI Copilot involving Large Language Model training and management in global enterprise organizations
– Relevant foundational certifications in MoveWorks, ServiceNow, and ITIL are a plus.
– 2-3 years proven hands-on experience in generative AI and Machine Learning / Deep Learning system deployment and support including the training and fine-tuning generative models.
– Knowledge of Lean & Agile Ways of Working
– Experience/Awareness of Agile Software Development techniques and processes.
– Understanding of microservice architecture design patterns.
– Proficient in communicating with business stakeholders
