TLS has an exciting opportunity for a UX Designer to join our team, crafting the experience for thousands of customers around the world. We are looking for a highly motivated Designer who is passionate about transformative ideas, compelling experiences, and sophisticated design.
AI will play a key role in improving the support experience for our clients. This position will help develop an understanding of how AI can transform the customer support experience through a human-centered approach. Areas of investigation using AI will range from designing more insightful, proactive and predictive monitoring, to delivering delightful AI assistant experiences for clients, support agents, and other users.
As a budding team, you will be part of shaping the direction of design in TLS and making a mark on highly valued and anticipated solutions.
Your Role and Responsibilities
AI designers understand and apply the domain of machine learning and artificial intelligence to deliver higher quality outcomes faster than humanly possible. They can craft and articulate the purpose, planning, and intent behind simulated human intelligence and thought processes. AI Designers are responsible for identifying and prioritizing ethically-aligned human needs while defining the end-to-end solution experience for artificial intelligence
• Work closely with stakeholders, design professionals, and others in a cross-functional team to define requirements and develop the solutions for IBM clients
• Evangelize and advocate for conversational user experience design
• Design compelling prototypes and demos to immediately demonstrate excellence in conversational UX
• Bolster existing requirements-gathering with a focus on end user needs, expectations, and contexts of use
• Leverage your knowledge of human language and communication to create seamless and natural interactions for digital systems across surfaces
• Understand business goals, user needs, and the technical aspects of how AI works.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Experience with systems-thinking, design thinking, mental models, machine learning model identification/generation, fairness, bias, traceability, designing for conversation.
• Foundational understanding of the domain of artificial intelligence technology including: AI vernacular, AI techniques, core algorithms, data processing, AI toolchain and AI DevOps.
• Understand the ethical standards and pitfalls of building accountable, fair, transparent and trustworthy AI.
• Candidates for this role should excel at advocating for the user, while communicating ideas and experiences to a wide variety of audiences
• Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, confident working within a cross-functional team and various levels
• Interest in areas such as customer service, data science, product and service design, and AI
• Portfolio of recent and relevant examples of hands-on experience
• Fluent English language skills
