As a Data Analyst, you deeply understand the power of data to generate quality customer insight, manage information, identify trends and make decisions.
This Data Analyst is responsible for nurturing, developing and growing analytics capability across the tribe, building and fostering a strong data driven culture and ensuring knowledge sharing, learning / training / up-skilling, career development, and standards / governance / QA are embraced and adopted.
What will your day look like?

End to end accountability of the work.

Take in charge and make sure the commitments are met.

Have a clear understanding of the end-to-end analytics journey as well as define and deliver the data roadmap

Implement a fact-based culture throughout the bank.

Continuous generation, monitoring, presenting and conducting of ‘fact-based’ analysis of relevant customer insights to use at any time for the development and improvement of relevant and innovative propositions

Generate, monitor, present and analyse relevant customer insights, costs, benefits, and risks for customers, clients and cohort products; this could include business casing, what if scenarios and opportunity sizing & assessments

Source data from a variety of sources to combine, synthesise and analyse to generate insights

Support key data platform and/or data scheduling jobs to support insights delivery to key audiences (e.g., frontline, other tribes)
What will you bring?

Strong communication and presentation skills
-
Basic knowledge in Data Analytics, data visualisation skills with ability to translate data insights into practical business recommendations

Good understanding of concepts in applied probability and statistics

Basic knowledge with tools and techniques for analysis, data manipulation and presentation in any of tool (e.g. SQL, Tableau, Qliksense,Knime, Python,Teradata, Onprem cloud tools)

Analytical and inquisitive mindset to continuously improve the level of insight surfaced

Ability to effectively communicate to all stakeholders (technical and non-technical)

Continuous Improvement & Change – Understands, accepts and supports the need for change and adapts own behaviours to changing circumstances and provides input to change projects

Problem Solving – Comprehensive understanding of a range of problem solving techniques

Data Visualisation and story telling – The ability to present data in a visual format that tells a meaningful story, enabling insights to be drawn and decisions to be made.

Understanding depth & breadth of data – Some capabilities to source, join and derive insights from disparate data sources across several domain

Data Wrangling: Cleaning and unifying small to medium volumes of structured data to enable analysis. The ability to query, transform, join, extract small to medium volume of data using Structured Queries.

Coding & Scripting: The ability to create a visual representation of either a whole information system or parts of it to communicate connections between data points and structures.

Communication: Uses spoken and written communication to effectively convey and help others comprehend basic information to support a meaningful dialogue

Collaboration: Collaborates with peers on analysis to respond to general inquiries

Critical Thinking: Inquisitive and curious. Generates simple ideas. Undertakes a complex task with guidance, breaks down into manageable parts in a systemic, detailed way
