Description

We are looking for a Data Analyst who is highly motivated, and detail-oriented to become an integral part of our team. This position supports the Financial Management Division. 

ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Data analyst shall analyze all data imaging/indexing assignments, determine priorities, and establish production schedules.
  • Sorts, classifies, files, and retrieves data, mail, and other material in a variety of established digital and related filing systems.
  • Performs related tasks to maintain data and files as requested. Batches the documents and scans them into the system. 
  • Performs data entry services involving the keying of data (on standard workstation keyboards; correcting erroneous data from standard forms and other input document review; and resolution of data entry-related problems; and other related support functions. 
  • Conducts some clerical services, usually involving the review, verification, validation, and tabulation of data for a variety of functions. 
  • Answers and makes telephone calls and prepares correspondence relative to assigned work.
  • Prepares various materials such as reports, folders, labels, routing slips, or mailing. 
  • Advises supervisor of scheduling and production problems. 
  • Assists in developing and implementing data indexing procedures, as required. 
  • Performs the more complex assignments requiring selection, indexing, coding, and interpretation of data. Accurately indexes data using a variety of sources. 
  • Reviews and inspects work to assure compliance with policies, and other procedural instructions. Ensures quality control of completed jobs. 
  • Performs record keeping of work performed. Interacts with government employees regarding, work performed, and job status to achieve desired results. 
  • Opens, sorts, and performs “document prep” on incoming invoices and vouchers that are connected to the work performed. Performs quality assurance on scanned documents. 
  • Performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

  

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient in accurate data entry
  • Skilled in desktop applications, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and Access
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND AND EDUCATION:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, either by birth or naturalization, to perform services under this contract.
  • Position requires a Public Trust background investigation, drug screening questionnaire, and Credit History Check

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of reconciling monthly statements and accurately documenting revenue and billing
  • Understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Ability to navigate assigned systems to update ledger entries and schedules.
  • Experience in processing payments of invoices and monitoring financial transactions.
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping and ensuring the accuracy of all records.
  • Ability to analyze budgets and contracts to ensure compliance with departmental policies and accounting principles.
  • Skill in troubleshooting discrepancies and preparing statistical, financial, and operational reports monthly.
