Job Summary
The Data Analyst plays a vital role in supporting the organization’s data-driven decision-making process. This role contributes to the analysis and interpretation of complex healthcare data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that improve patient care, operational efficiency, and strategic planning. This role will work closely with senior analysts and business stakeholders across various departments to provide data-driven recommendations and support data-related projects.
Essential Functions
- Gathers, cleanses, and prepares data from various sources (e.g., EMRs, regulatory agency sources, surveys) ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Conducts descriptive, exploratory, and statistical analyses of healthcare data using appropriate software and techniques.
- Writes and executes SQL queries to extract and manipulate data.
- Develops and delivers regular reports summarizing key findings and performance indicators.
- Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams (e.g., clinicians, administrators, IT) to address data-related questions and challenges.
- Creates clear and concise visualizations (e.g., dashboards, charts, graphs) to communicate data findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contributes to data-related projects by assisting senior analysts with tasks such as data preparation, analysis, and reporting.
- Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams (e.g., clinicians, administrators, business leaders) to address data-related questions and challenges.
- Identifies key trends and patterns in healthcare data to support strategic decision-making.
- Manages multiple projects under the guidance of senior analysts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Clinical area, Engineering, Business, or Information Systems from an accredited college or university required
- 1-3 years experience in data analytics, healthcare operations, program management, or relevant support services required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in oral/written presentations
- Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint software
