Compensation includes a base salary of $64,200.00 – $96,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

General Job Description: 

The sustainability space is rapidly evolving increasing the need of businesses to mature their data and analytics in support of sustainability goals and regulations. As a data analysis SME, you will contribute to the future of data analysis and reporting for Cox Conserves.   

The role of Data Analyst II is to contribute to the execution of data analysis projects to bring to life the strategic vision developed by the Director, Environmental Sustainability. The Data Analyst II will work closely with the Data Analysis Manager on day-to-day tasks.  The Data Analyst II will participate in meetings with stakeholders/partners and deliver on tasks delegated by the Data Analysis Manager and Director, Environmental Sustainability. 

Collaboration across the Cox portfolio of businesses and third parties is key to gather necessary inputs and understand business nuance. The Data Analyst II must be a skilled data wrangler, critical thinker, and creative resolution guru in order to effectively gather and analyze sustainability data from across the entire enterprise.

Roles & Responsibilities: 

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions: 

  • Execute recurring jobs to support data pipeline, QA, and reporting workstreams 

  • Create business documentation of data pipeline, QA, and reporting processes 

  • Automate manual tasks to improve efficiency, quality, and effectiveness of output 

  • Enhance automated jobs to keep up with evolving business needs 

  • Contribute to the design and development of future state data pipelines to increase data quality and speed to insights utilizing new technology as needed 

  • Simplifies and standardizes internal reports for use across the organization  

  • Be proactive in identifying systemic data quality issues and provide timely resolution of those issues which includes presenting root cause analysis to key business owners to ensure positive customer satisfaction 

  • Prioritize, escalate, and deliver work using a logical and methodical process  

Day-to-day duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Execute recurring QA jobs and analyze output 

  • Be the first line of response to data quality issues; investigate and resolve underlying cause(s), escalate as needed  

  • Maintain existing dashboards; QA outputs, and identify modification needs as data sources and platforms evolve 

  • Support tool and platform migrations of existing solutions 

  • Work with multiple external and internal data sources to establish, maintain and improve environmental data collection, completeness, and quality 

  • Ensure data/reporting complies with applicable environmental reporting standards (e.g. GHG, GRI), and Data Governance and Management policies 

 

This individual will have: 

  • Passion for Environmental Sustainability  

  • Willingness to learn and tackle new complex problems 

  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of speed and accuracy 

  • Strong analytical, operational and technical competency, with a proven ability to present data and complex analyses 

  • Experience with developing and running custom ETL for data analysis: aggregating, cleaning, and analyzing large data sets, and identifying trends and patterns  

  • Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas in a simple, yet effective, manner 

  • Ability to collaborate and function effectively with various teams  

  • Aptitude with new technologies and strong flexibility and adaptability to changing work environments 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize work based on required deliverables 

What We’re Looking For: 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 2 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or 6 years’ experience in a related field

  • Direct experience with analytics, reporting, data mining, and data visualization

  • Proficient in SQL with hands-on experience querying various databases, such as Oracle, Snowflake, Redshift, or Azure data storage 

  • Experience in writing scripts with python/pandas/pyspark for ETL and data analysis  

  • Highly proficient MS Office skills – advanced knowledge of Excel 

Preferred:   

  • Experience creating dashboards for stakeholders with data visualization tools: Tableau or PowerBI 

  • Experience working in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Microsoft Fabric 

  • Experience with data and analysis for corporate functions including: Finance, Accounting, Law & Policy, Marketing, Operations, or energy and/or sustainability metrics & reporting (GHG carbon accounting) 

  • Experience with utilities and/or utility billing data 

  • Experience disclosing sustainability metrics to CDP, S&P CSA, etc. 

  • Familiar with sustainability regulations
