Basic Function
LyondellBasell’s Digital Technologies Advanced Analytics organization provides value focused and scalable digital, data-driven, and advanced analytics solutions across LyondellBasell’s enterprise. The Data Analyst Intern will have the opportunity to work on challenging real world and high value problems, while being a part of a great team which takes pride on delivering excellence for the organization. We are looking for innovative, energetic, productive, analytical minded, and humble individuals who demonstrate LyondellBasell’s core values to contribute to our efforts through an internship program.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Place emphasis on excellent problem solving and data analysis with great attention to detail
• Leverage analytical coursework and skills, towards providing support of Advanced Analytics solutions and projects
• Work collaboratively with other team members on solutions and workflows which are critical to delivering data driven solutions on high impact problems
• Perform thorough data analysis, data querying, data problem solving, and documentation
• Network internally within LYB to build relationships as part of a positive internship experience
Min. Qualifications
• Current BS, MS/MBA, or PhD student (MS/MBA students preferred) in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Physics, Finance, or related quantitative field
• High level of enthusiasm and a love of data, analytics, and analysis
• Strong quantitative, problem-solving, and interpretative skills
• The ability to act independently with little to no direction, being adaptable, flexible, and resilient
• SQL and other programming skills (especially Python) are strongly preferred
Internship Description & Specifics
• This is a full-time paid internship, located in Houston, TX
• LYB works a hybrid work schedule, with up to 3 days working from home each week, based on positive performance
• This internship is not associated with LYB’s summer internship program, and is a longer term internship which has the opportunity to extend across terms based on positive performance
• This internship is open to upper-class students pursuing or graduating with an undergraduate degree, students pursuing or graduating with an MS/MBA, or students pursuing or graduating with a PhD
• This internship does not have the potential to lead into a full time employment offer with LYB
• This internship is open to students who need assistance with Optional Practical Training (OPT) and Curricular Practical Training (CPT) in association with their college or university
