The North Star is one of the most ambitious Aviva Group’s projects, aiming to transform Finance function through automation, reduced repetition, efficiency gains and a culture of doing things once and right. North Star Team delivers the critical process acceleration, provides improved management information & analysis, and enhances the system of controls.

 

 

What will you be doing?

  • Create fast and efficient systems, which will stand the test of time,

  • Apply the coding skills in the actuarial process, where large amounts of data need to be processed fast to assist decision making,

  • Help rebuild and accelerate the existing process using: Python, Power Query and newest Excel functionalities,

  • Set up tests and design checks,

  • Engage with the team of actuarial experts from all over the UK,

  • Effectively communicate results to stakeholders,

  • Be a team player and support flexible resourcing model.

 

What we’re looking for?

  • Prior coding experience, Python would be ideal,

  • Ability to work independently – paying attention to detail ensuring high quality of your work. Finding solutions to technical challenges,

  • Basic understanding of asset valuation. Actuarial knowledge is an advantage, but not essential,

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills,

  • Ability to express concisely and transparently technical concepts to senior management and non-expert audience,

  • Ability to identify problems and help resolve these or escalate as appropriate.
