We’re looking for an Engineering intern who cares deeply about their craft, and who wants to use their skills to bring about positive change in the world and help us mature into a high-performing global enterprise. This opportunity is part of the Global Data and Analytics Organization, which is composed of a diverse and growing team of talented scientists, analysts and engineers that keep our data flowing from connected vehicles and AI-enabled Edge Cameras, and that serve up insights and predictions directly into our portfolio of customer-facing products.The ideal candidate is highly motivated and comfortable in the rapidly changing nature of a startup environment. Role and Responsibilities:Help build and drive DataOps culture and practices, enabling the Team to build better, more reliable, automated and secure data products faster.Design and implement continuous integration and delivery of data pipelines.Investigate, test and design ML algorithms to create insight and generate value from data analysis.Take part in designing and implementing streaming data pipelines receiving billions of events daily, enabling new capabilities and improving performance.Contribute to an open, creative and collaborative culture where everyone feels accountable for shaping the future of the Team and of Rekor.Comfortable working in an agile environment with a cross functional and globally distributed team including offshore teams with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.Highly analytical and detail-oriented, ability to work quickly & cross-functionally on ambiguous problems.Eagerness to learn and be coached, continuously learning and applying emerging technologies. Pushing yourself and your team to new heights. Preferred Skills & Experience:Undergraduate (Senior) or Graduate Students pursuing coursework.Project/course work in data engineering and data infrastructure experienceFamiliarity with AWS Data and Analytics ecosystem (Certification Preferred)Familiarity with S3 storage lifecycles, partitioning, staging, catalogue and ETL workflows.Proficiency in Python & SQL and other languages like Scala, Java, etc.Familiarity with data engineering lifecycles and enablement.Version control system (BitBucket, GitHub, GitLab)Ability to work across regions and cultures, collaborating effectively across business units and geography.
