Data Migration Specialist
Looking for our next Data Specialist
RESPONSIBILITIES
- shall perform Data Migration services in production environment from defined source (e.g. Cloudera Hadoop) system to CEM Data Lake including creation of the Method of Procedure (MOP), MOP execution, Acceptance testing, and troubleshooting/analysis of any issue discovered during the MOPs execution. This service encompasses the following activities:
- Acknowledge receipt of data migration service request within 1 working day
- Participate in planning meetings and understand the JIRA ticket, business needs and requirements within 1 day.
- Submit documentation on source and destination dataset design within 2 business days from planning meeting. Migration design may consist of migration of data across multiple Hadoop environments or moving data from relation data bases to Hadoop.
- Create the necessary queries / scripts to perform data migration within 2 days post design document submission.
- Create migration MOP and acceptance test plan.
- Conduct review of the, design document with queries/scripts, system status, MOP, and Acceptance test plan with the Customer per agreed schedule
- Resolve issues identified in the review within 2 working days.
- Perform the data migration and run acceptance test with customer as per agreed schedule.
- Monitor the system post data migration for 1 day and submit system status report including anomalies.
- Participate in applicable meetings including action item reviews with Nokia and Customer
- Update Nokia Jira ticketing system with status of completion of deliverables within 1 days of completing the activity.
- Provide summary report to Nokia covering each of the task items delivered along with artifacts
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Data migration Specialist.
- Proficiency in tools such as Jira, MOP, Hadoop, and SQL queries.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead a self-organizing team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Experience with Nokia Jira Ticketing System
- English C1.
