Cabot Corporation is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team in Mumbai. This role will bridge business stakeholders and our third-party implementation team, supporting the successful rollout of the Cabot RENEW Digitalization project.

The Data Engineer will play a crucial role in developing and managing data platforms, including Data Lake provisioning, Master Data Management, Data Quality, Data Governance, and Advanced Analytics. They will collaborate with various teams to create reporting solutions and ensure seamless data access across corporate and plant functions.

The ideal candidate will have experience with BI, Data Warehousing, Cloud, and relational databases, as well as a strong foundation in data modeling and visualization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Data and Analytics, this role requires a passion for data and the ability to translate business needs into insightful reports, helping Cabot advance as a data-driven organization.

How You Will Make an Impact

As a key member of the Data & Analytics team, you will:

• Drive modernization of the architecture and design of data and analytics systems, including Data Warehouse, Reporting Tool etc.
• Collaborate with business champions and the architecture & innovation team, to gather detailed business requirements, focused on delivering enterprise data analytics solutions across various data platforms stacks (Oracle, Microsoft, SAP).
• Translate Business requirements to fit for purpose solutions and technical requirements for developers.
• Apply business knowledge and expertise to identify opportunities for data quality and business process improvements.
• Design/Maintain data platform solutions and data models in OBIEE/OAS and Power BI.
• Create database/data lake objects to meet business requirement and support modeling for Reporting tools.
• Conduct and participate in code walkthroughs and document technical design.
• Work across the organization to research and answer complex questions related to enterprise reporting solutions and other systems.
• Work closely with the Business Relationship Managers to make sure requirements are met during user acceptance testing (UAT), including tracking issues through to resolution and securing end-user acceptance signoff.
• Analyze, define, build, test, and deliver reports/dashboards/interactive visualizations.
• Troubleshoot problems, test, and work with businesses to resolve issues.
• Provide guidance and training to business stakeholders on business intelligence solutions and establish best practices.

What You Will Bring to Cabot

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other with related work experience.
• 8+ years of work experience in IT field.
• 4+ years of related work experience. For example, experience building models and creating visualizations using reporting tools (OBIEE/OAS, Microsoft Power BI).
• Experience with OBIEE/OAS is a must.
• Proficiency in using SQL to create database objects like Tables, Views etc. and to retrieve data from the Relational Database (inner joins, outer join, group by, order by etc.).
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate with various other teams within the organization.
• Strong analytical skills, exceptional planning, and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Highly motivated and driven with keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask.to the site/region.
• Relevant certifications, licenses, or registrations such as: Agile-related certifications; Domain-specific technology certifications; Power BI Data Analyst Associate; Oracle Business Intelligence Foundation Certified Implementation Specialist.
• Experience in gathering requirement from business and the convert into BRD to be used for Data model/ Report development. This experience in Finance domain and / or in a global manufacturing organization is a plus.
• Experience with Power BI Administration or Power BI Governance is a plus.
