At GWI weâre always looking for extraordinary people who thrive on making an extraordinary impact. Right now weâre looking for a Data Analytics Engineer to play a key role in our Data Operations team in Athens. If thatâs you, and making a difference gets you out of bed in the morning, keep reading. It could be the start of something, well, extraordinary.
Â
Sounds great, what will I be doing? đ¤
As our Data Analytics Engineer you’ll focus on ensuring the quality and integrity of our data at every stage of the pipeline. Using our internal tools, you will work with data from our various consumer surveys, clean and process it, validate its accuracy, and load it to our customer platform. Youâll also be responsible for investigating and resolving any discrepancies in the data.
Beyond day-to-day data processing, youâll take ownership of improvements to tooling, documentation, and workflows, and contribute to cross-team initiatives. Youâll also act as a point of contact for more junior team members, offering guidance and peer reviews.
You’ll work closely with colleagues across Data Automations, Research, Engineering, and Product to support the delivery of our core offerings.
Main responsibilities:
â˘Clean , transform, and load our datasets to prepare them for analysis
â˘Perform advanced data quality checks and troubleshoot data issues independently
â˘Own and improve elements of our data validation and delivery processes
â˘Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align on tooling and workflows
â˘Document and maintain robust, reproducible data processes
â˘Proactively contribute to knowledge sharing and technical discussions within the team
â˘Support onboarding or mentoring of junior team members where needed
Our Data Operations Team  is actively engaged throughout the entire data life cycle including data cleaning, data processing, data validation, designing and automating data workflows, and investigating new approaches to use and connect our data. From automated testing and intelligent product features to custom analytical solutions, we are supporting the business at every level: as data is at the very core of what we do.Â
What do I need to bring with me? đ§ł
Youâll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires. You don’t have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that youâre willing to learn. Hereâs what the team will be looking for:
đ Suitable educational qualifications in mathematical, computational, statistical sciences (or a related field)
đ Demonstrable experience using Python to manipulate and transform data
đ An appreciation for data quality, attention to detail, and thoughtful documentation
đ Experience working with structured data pipelines in a collaborative team-based environment using shared code, tools, and workflows
đ A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to team culture and shared goals
đ Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics clearly and contribute to an open, supportive team culture
đ A proactive and structured approach to delivery, prioritisation, and problem-solving
đ An understanding of how your work supports broader business goals, and the ability to apply that perspective to your projects
Â
Nice to have
đExperience in market research or working with survey data
đExperience with shared script repositories and version control (e.g. GitHub)
đBasic knowledge of databases, data warehousing and working with command line tools
đHands-on experience using Jira and Confluence
đFamiliarity with cloud services, particularly GCP
đExperience using Jupyter notebooks
Â
Equally important is attitude. We want people who think big (to make an impact), ask why (to find a better way), and show respect (to everyone, at every level, all the time). Those are our values, exemplified by our leadership team, and theyâre a big part of what weâre looking for in you.
Â
Interview steps đ
đ Preliminary phone call with the Talent Team (no video required)
đ First video interview with the hiring managersÂ
đ Second (and final*) video interview with the hiring panel, often including a presentation, followed by a values conversation with members of the wider GWI community.
*Donât be alarmed if there are other stages in the process, itâs all part of the plan for some of our roles.
