What does this team do?
The key thing to know is that your role will be broad and diverse, with lots of opportunity to develop. You will join the Retail Protection Partnerships Distribution Team.
The placement program is designed to give you the fundamental experience and skill set required to excel in a career in Data Analytics.
Over the course of the 8 weeks, you will be given the chance to experience working on key real life business projects, develop your professional network and expand on both your people and analytical skills. We hope that by the end of the program you will have built a clearer picture of where your interests and experience can take you within Legal & General and the wider industry.
Job duties include:
- Collecting and analysing learning data to provide insight.
- Summarising your findings and representing those findings to key internal and external stakeholders.
- Interpret available tracking data to suggest and instigate change to optimise journeys within the LGI Partnerships business.
- Develop and present recommendations for improvements to the key customer journeys to aid sales performance and enhance customer understanding.
- Maintain appropriate documentation supporting the procedures, analyses, decisions, processes, and controls.
Qualifications
First and foremost, we are looking for people with an inquisitive mind and a desire to learn. We’re not expecting prior industry experience, but we’ll want to see that you have the tools to develop quickly. These include:
- Penultimate year student, on track for minimum of a 2.1 Degree in a related subject, such as, but not limited to, Data Science, or Computer Science
- Analytical mind-set, with a high level of numeracy
- Great communication skills
- Flexible and a team-player
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- High levels of energy, dynamism and commitment
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Knowledge of Machine Learning is beneficial but not essential
- Experience with coding languages is beneficial but not essential

Captures essential information from candidate and is an opportunity to provide their CV
Online tests
- Includes multiple choice questions and a video interview. The online test asks a number of behavioural questions to help us understand more about candidates’ strengths. There is also an analytical component which assesses numerical reasoning skills. In the video interview, we will ask 3 core questions focusing on motivation to join L&G, as well as the candidates approach to learning.
Assessment centre (either face to face or virtual) comprised of:

Group Exercise – candidates are given a task to work on in groups of up to 6 and observed

Interview – Conducted by 2 assessors, 45 minutes including time for questions from the candidate, questions include competency and commercial based questions

Presentation – 15 minutes in duration, 10 minutes to present and 5 minutes for questions from assessor
