Data and Reporting Lead
Job Description
The Data and Reporting Lead generates ad hoc reports, regular datasets and reports information for end-users using system tools and database or data warehouse queries and scripts. The Data and Reporting Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. The Data Reporting Lead will pull healthcare data and use it to tell a story that will help the plan identify improvement efforts, interventions and initiatives.
Data and Reporting Lead (Within Managed care/Healthcare) Remote (able to work in Eastern time zone)
The Data and Reporting Lead integrates data from multiple sources to produce requested or required data elements for Quality Improvement within the Ohio Medicaid line of business. The Data and Reporting Lead will prepare and submit data for review and discussion to state entities as well as provide data for HEDIS and other healthcare quality measures. The Data and Reporting Lead will create, review, stratify and identify opportunities to improve health outcomes using various data sets. The Data and Reporting Lead will create dashboards, canned reports and will use data generators and other end-user information portals or resources. The Data and Reporting Lead may create specifications for reports based on business requests and advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. This role reports to the Quality Improvement Director but will work under minimal supervision with the expectation of collaboration with all stakeholders, internal and external; and an ability to exercise judgement and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks

Required Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree or 5 + years relevant work experience
- 5+ years of experience in data reporting
- 3 years of experience within managed care or healthcare insurance related field
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including ability to link pivots to external data sources, creating pivot tables and summarizing data into reports, dashboards, charts, and graphs
- Ability to link external data sources, pass-through queries, data structure and relationship design
- Experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations and/or the analysis of healthcare data including multi-level drill down assessment of key utilization and financial performance measures related to Quality Improvement and Population Health
- Develop and maintain reporting systems, analytical processes, and/or other tools to support Quality and Clinical Performance, key benchmarks and improve Quality outcomes, (i.e., HEDIS, NCQA, CAHPS, PIPS and state regulatory requirements)
- Advanced in SQL, SAS, SPSS and/or other statistical data analysis applications
- WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 10×1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required.
- COVID VACCINATION: Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in areas such as Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, Healthcare Administration
- Experience with tools such as Power BI, Tableau and/or Qlik View for creating data visualizations
- Prior experience working in a system analytics and/or data warehousing environment
- Prior experience with QI Science Tools such as run charts, control charts, outcome, process and balancing measures
- Lean Six Sigma
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple or competing priorities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of quality improvement measurement methods and approaches (PDSA, DMAIC, etc.)

- Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Open for Flexible Start and Stop Times.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$95,300 – $131,200 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
