Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Data Architect to join the Nokia Business Applications AI as a Service team, in Portugal. 

AI as a Service mission statement: Develop and nurture innovative, efficient, fully digitalized, and high-quality use cases by becoming a use case driven powerhouse. This team will leverage product capabilities developed by the product engineering team. Nurture and boost excellence in Data Science and Data Engineering disciplines that will be considered state of the art of competences applied to Telco Networks Domain. This organization is designed to be a critical step to future mode of operations where many of our offerings will be use case driven.  It includes the domains covering Centralized Operations, Infrastructure, Network and Customer centric use cases.

  • Design, architecture, and development of scalable data models
  • Testing and maintenance of systems and processes to collect, transform, store, and enable analysis of structured and unstructured data, considering all the aspects related to privacy, security, reliability, and scalability
  • Curation of data, ensuring data quality and integrity
  • Creation and maintenance of a data dictionary of all key sources and tables
  • Documentation of key stakeholders and dependencies as well as the gathering, clarification, and translation of business and data requirements into documentations and conceptual designs from which technical solutions are developed
  • Advisory of clients on appropriate data governance capabilities

Understanding the Telco domain software products and service components along with their impact on our customers and market.

  • Performing research, implementation and testing on new product features, technology, and solution concepts
  • Developing fully automated solutions (including CI/CD) for platform deployment of complex distributed systems
  • Evaluating new technologies and products in real customer scenarios
  • Developing new solutions and redesign existing solutions
  • Analyzing internal and external business challenges to recommend best practices to improve products, processes, and services
  • Technology, engineering or related University Degree or student (MSc or BSc)
  • Deep technical knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following areas: applied data analysis, deep / machine learning, security, cloud computing, decentralized systems
  • Knowledge and experience in software development, architecture, design and related processes and tools
  • Self-driven and creative
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Challenge seeking and analytical

It would be nice if you also have:
 Good knowledge of IT concepts associated with the deployment of modern distributed systems:

  • Big Data and distributed processing (Hadoop, Kafka, Spark)
  • Container based architectures (Kubernetes)
  • Programming languages: Python, Java, C++ and Javascript
  • Data Mesh principles
    • Data Products, Self-serve Platform, Federated Data Governance
