To achieve this, we are seeking for Data Architect to join our Transformation Realized™ Consulting practice to support our clients in defining and rolling out the right data architecture, data platforms and infrastructure that support their needs, implement, and maintain automated data pipelines, and infuse data through business intelligence and analytics. Our team is part of EY’s Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe & Central Asia (CESA) cluster, delivering market leading services to organizations across industries in Cyprus and internationally.

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Define, guide and advise clients in developing data strategies
  • Design systems and solutions leveraging cloud data components
  • Oversee the design of the data architecture and the technical architecture for the legacy and modern data platforms, including data integration, data modelling, data transformation, data warehousing and data lakehouse
  • Define and design processes to promote a scalable, governed analytics ecosystem 
  • Design, build and orchestrate data pipelines from multiple sources into an enterprise data lake
  • Evaluate tools and components necessary for optimal data management (data integration, data storage, data quality, data governance, data visualization and advanced analytics)
  • Define and estimate scope of work required for the implementation of a data architecture to meet business requirements
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data analytics solutions to ensure efficient processing and query performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Monitor data processing efficiency and propose solutions for improvements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data analytics solutions with existing systems and processes

 

 

Skills and Attributes for Success 

 

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or any other relevant subject 
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect or a similar role
  • Cloud Platform Experience (GCP preferrable) 
  • Excellent comprehension on cloud security capabilities and supporting multiple personas in a cloud platform (GCP preferrable)
  • Good understanding of the different data architecture patterns (e.g., Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Warehouse, Data Lakehouse) 
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of data types (i.e. structured and unstructured), extracting and integrating data from modern and legacy data platforms 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment

 

It will be a plus if you have 

 

  • Strong business understanding of the financial sector (Insurance or Banking) 
  • You have experience with lean/agile software development
