Operations IT is a global IT capability supporting the Global Operations organization. We partner with various Operations capability areas including Pharmaceutical Technology Development, Manufacturing & Global Engineering, Quality Control, Sustainability, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Global External Sourcing and Procurement. Accountabilities

Leadership & Strategy
– Guide the development, execution, and implementation of roadmaps for data foundation platforms.
– Assess current state of platforms, define future state needs, identify gaps, recommend new technology solutions, and support product roadmap development.
– Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of robust data catalogue, data quality, and MDM platforms.
– Manage and optimize the technology stack ensuring alignment with security, architecture, compliance, and performance standards.
– Provide technical knowledge of engineering principles to develop reliable and high-quality Data & Analytics platforms.
– Ensure comprehensive documentation including standard operating procedures, user guides, and best practices.
– Ensure automation is central to our processes and technologies for effective delivery timeframes.
– Work on funding proposals describing value and ROI for internal investment.
– Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Innovation
– Drive innovation by staying informed about technology trends and thought leadership.
– Collaborate with business stakeholders on proof of concepts and pilots.
– Identify opportunities for innovation to enhance the data foundation platform’s capabilities and efficiency.

Stakeholder Collaboration
– Act as a liaison between IT and Business Units fostering strong communication and understanding.
– Oversee partnerships with third parties, academic or outsourced partners to shape project outcomes.
– Partner with enterprise platform teams and architecture to ensure alignment and influence stakeholders.

Quality Assurance
– Implement robust quality assurance processes to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and security.
– Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure platform effectiveness.

Project Technical Management
– Collaborate with technical and business resources from internal and external sources to specify and deliver appropriate technical solutions.
– Evaluate the technical competence of external design and engineering staff to meet project needs.
– Design and implement cloud solutions following best practices in security and code patterns.

Essential Skills/Experience
– Extensive experience in implementation & management of data, analytics & AI platforms.
– Extensive experience in CloudOps, DevOps, DataOps, and infrastructure setup and maintenance.
– Strong knowledge of BI landscape, data warehouse solutions including cloud data warehouses like Snowflake.
– Strong experience with cloud platforms and services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience in Agile development methodologies.
– Influencer and negotiator who can align executives and senior stakeholders to a shared vision.
– Relevant technical degree or equivalent.
– AWS experience with EC2, S3, IAM, r53, DynamoDB, Lambda, RDS, ECR, Networking.
– GitHub Actions Development – Create and maintain GitHub Actions developed in-house.
– Python.
– IaC with Terraform.
– GitHub reusable workflows.
– Linux.
– Proven track record in engineering technologies connecting technology with business value. Pharma sector experience is a plus.
– Strong communication skills with AZ teams, peers, and third-party suppliers.
– Ability to develop innovation opportunities and lead changes.
– Experience managing/delivering engineering technology aspects of projects/technology developments.
– Ability to work in diverse multinational teams influencing positive outcomes.
– Experience in Docker, Jira, NodeJS, EKS, AWS Amplify, Artifactory, SonarQube.
– Knowledge of Lean design processes.
– Experience in Data Foundation technologies like Snowflake, dbt, Data Catalogue (e.g., Collibra), Data Quality (e.g., Monte Carlo), integration tools like Fivetran, Snaplogic, Qlikreplicate.
