Data Engineer

The Data Engineer position focuses on the development and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and data source integrations to support the growing complexity of data. The role involves collaboration with various teams to enhance data models, ensure data accuracy and availability, and provide leadership in deploying data and analytics platforms. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in computer science, engineering, or mathematics, with expertise in SQL, data modeling, and familiarity with cloud services and programming languages. The Data Engineer will play a crucial role in fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.
.Essential Functions
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and build out new data source integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.
- Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision-making.
- Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.
- Write complex queries for data analysis and extraction.
- Develop data engineering standards and enforcement of such standards
- Develop CI/CD standards and enforcement of such standards
- Support container applications in the cloud
- Provide leadership and support to team members in the development and deployment of data and analytics platforms, particularly leveraging cloud data architectures and SaaS-based analytics tools for scalability and reduced infrastructure support requirements.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Software Developer, or similar role.
- Expertise in SQL and data modeling.
- Experience with cloud services (Microsoft Azure).
- Knowledge of programming languages (Python or similar).
- Familiarity with big data tools (Apache Spark).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.
- Experience with data visualization tools.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with docker and container applications (Container App Services).
