About the Job

This position reports to the Senior Data Architect in the Consumer Healthcare business unit (Opella) at Sanofi.

This position will collaborate with multiple business functions to provide guidance in implementing the right data model and practices that meet their needs.

S/he will closely work with the data engineering team, Architects and the data governance team to create a logical data model architecture for various data objects.

S/he will work on modern data architecture techniques and cloud data technologies.

The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively.

s/he will work with a diverse team of business analysts, data scientists, technical engineers, data architects, and project managers to deliver outcomes aligned with our business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using Apache Airflow, dbt, and Snowflake.
  • Develop, test, and optimize Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Manage and administer Snowflake cloud databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
  • Use dbt to implement modular and reusable transformations for efficient data modeling and reporting.
  • Leverage Elementary for data observability, ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of the data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements, align on data models, and support data-driven projects.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously optimize data workflows, ensuring they meet business SLAs and performance requirements.
  • Implement best practices in data governance, security, and compliance to ensure data privacy and integrity.
  • Work closely with the analytics team to prepare datasets for analysis, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering with a focus on Airflow, Python, Snowflake, dbt, and Elementary.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation, scripting, and process automation.
  • Deep understanding of data pipeline orchestration using Apache Airflow.
  • Experience with Snowflake cloud database architecture, including Snowpipe, warehouse management, and query optimization.
  • Expertise in using dbt for building, transforming, and modeling data at scale.
  • Familiarity with Elementary for ensuring data quality and pipeline observability.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL for querying relational databases and transforming data.
  • Experience with data modeling, performance tuning, and schema design.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, security practices, and data privacy regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with additional cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools like Git.
  • Understanding of modern data architecture, including data lakes, and real-time data processing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of analytics and BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English
  • Work with multicultural and multi-sourced teams.
