Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data architecture, data pipelines, and ensuring data integrity across the organization. This role will focus on leveraging tools like Databricks and Power BI to enable data-driven decision-making and optimize our data infrastructure

Core Duties/Responsibilities

– Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support analytics, reporting, and operational data needs.

– Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.

– Implement data workflows using Databricks, ensuring high performance and reliability of the data infrastructure.

– Integrate various data sources, ensuring data quality and consistency across the platform.

– Develop and manage data models, datasets, and reporting structures in Power BI to support business intelligence and reporting initiatives.

– Ensure data security, privacy, and governance compliance across the organization.

– Troubleshoot and resolve any data-related issues, ensuring system reliability and robustness.

– Continuously improve data engineering practices by adopting new tools, techniques, and industry best practices.

– Utilise DevOps tools such as Azure Dev Ops to ensure smooth deployment and monitoring of data infrastructure.

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours:

Qualification / skills required:

– 2+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on data architecture, ETL processes, and large-scale data systems.

– Hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, or other distributed computing frameworks.

– Strong knowledge of Power BI, including dataset modeling, DAX, and report/dashboard creation.

– Experience working with SQL databases and writing complex SQL queries.

– Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and cloud-based data solutions.

– Experience with programming languages such as Python or Scala.

– Strong understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and big data technologies.

– Understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices

– Experience with version control tools like ADO and CI/CD processes.

– Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

– Strong communication and collaboration skills.
