Job description
A Venture Data Engineer is a critical player in new business ventures, responsible for designing and maintaining scalable data infrastructure that supports data-driven strategic decision-making and innovation. This role involves building and operating robust data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and collaborating closely with other teams to solve business problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Pipeline Engineering: Design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines to ensure high-quality data for analysis and machine learning.
- Cloud & Data Solutions: Utilize cloud-native tools for automated, scalable, and reliable data solutions aligned with best practices in data governance.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with data scientists, product managers, and engineers to create data solutions integrated into our products.
- Innovation & Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, contributing to our data strategy and continuously enhancing data engineering practices.
About you
You’re a resourceful and driven data engineer who brings a blend of technical expertise and curiosity to solving data challenges. Skilled in cloud technologies and data pipelines, you enjoy creating scalable solutions that directly impact the business. As part of a small, agile team, you’re comfortable stepping outside your core role to tackle diverse tasks and support the team’s goals. Collaborative and adaptable, you work well with cross-functional teams, translating complex needs into practical data solutions. With a strong focus on continuous learning, you stay up-to-date with industry advancements and bring a creative approach to your work.
We also believe that you:
- Have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, focusing on cloud-native, DevOps-based data infrastructure and production-ready solutions.
- Are proficient in Python, SQL, cloud technologies (especially AWS), data pipeline architecture, and data modeling tools like DBT.
- Bring hands-on experience with scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and CI/CD practices to ensure high-quality, robust, and reliable data flows for large datasets.
- Are analytical, solution-oriented, and motivated to tackle complex data challenges in a collaborative setting.
- Have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
