About Linklaters

Linklaters are a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.

We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.

Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere.

We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias, because we want everyone to feel that they belong. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common mind-set.

We recognise that one size does not fit all. Our goal is to embed flexibility across our firm by giving everyone the opportunity to work in an agile way, whether as a regular pattern or on an ad hoc basis, and we will be happy to discuss this further.

The Role

As Linklaters continues to pioneer a data-driven approach within the legal sector, the significance of Data Engineering in our operations is ever-increasing. We are leveraging ML and AI technologies to enhance our legal services, improve client experiences, and maintain our competitive edge. This role is crucial in driving our AI/ML initiatives, as it involves not only technical expertise but also a deep understanding of how these technologies can be applied innovatively in a legal context. Your contributions will be pivotal in shaping the firm’s future in AI, impacting both internal processes and client outcomes.

  • Design and implement data pipelines to collect, ingest transform and serve data from multiple sources into a single storage solution to enable AI and ML-backed data products.
  • Advance the firm’s approaches to deployment of AI and ML models
  • Compose frameworks to support the Deployment, Testing, Monitoring and Governance of AI/ML models.
  • Collaborate with Data Science teams to integrate AI and machine learning models into the firm’s data systems.
  • Oversee the organisation’s emerging data lake ensuring data is easily accessible by Data Scientists for AI applications.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot pipelines, ensuring continuous data flows from source applications to models.

Your Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines and data lake solutions using Python/PySpark, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks.
  • Demonstrated experience with Data frameworks and tools, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or Hugging Face.
  • Experience with big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks, such as Apache Spark or similar.
  • Experience in database technologies such as ElasticSearch, Neo4j and SQL.
  • Practical experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform is a bonus

The Team

An exciting time to join a team at the forefront of pioneering a data-driven enterprise with a unified data ecosystem driving outstanding client service and profitable revenue growth.

The firm is embarking on a journey to properly govern, utilise and democratise its data and this is an opportunity to get in at the ground floor. Data is integral to our work in the Generative AI space and this role provides abundant opportunity to be a major part of what makes that programme a success.

Complementing the team will be Scientists and Architects dedicated to transitioning how the firm leverages advanced data technologies, ensuring a collaborative and integrated approach to innovation.
