We, in the Expedia Group’s Strategic Partnerships and Affiliates Team, are building the next-generation, scalable B2B partnership platform that will power hundreds of thousands of demand partners across the industry ranging from big businesses to small bloggers and micro influencers in helping them recommend Expedia Group brands to their audiences and in the process grow their businesses. We aim to redefine the travel partnerships sector by building innovative partner tools and solutions that incorporates the new ways in which today’s travelers discover and shop travel products. 

In this role, your expertise and passion for innovation, developing cutting-edge technology and implementing industry-leading solutions, will improve the experience of millions of travelers and travel partners each year. You will work with a geo-distributed, cross functional team of 20+ engineers designing and developing solutions for complex problems with a wide-reaching business impact.

  

In this role, you will:  

  • You will work with a team of backend and data engineers to design and code large scale real-time data pipelines, microservices and APIs on the AWS platform.

  • You will be accountable for individual tasks and assignments as well as your team’s overall productivity.

  • You will define, develop and maintain artifacts like technical design or user documentation and look for continuous improvement in software and development process within an agile development team

  • You will communicate and work effectively with geographically distributed multi-functional teams.

Experience and qualifications:  

  • You have a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • You have 5+ years of experience in crafting data pipelines and real-time streaming applications, preferably in Spark, Kafka, or other streaming platforms

  • You are experienced in building and maintaining sophisticated ETL pipeline/data products in production environments (bug fixing, troubleshooting, monitoring, etc.)

  • You are comfortable programming in Scala, Python or Java and have hands-on experience in OOAD, design patterns, and SQL

  • Experience of using cloud services (e.g. AWS)

  • You have experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies
