Job Description

The Motorola Solutions RadioCentral team seeks an undergraduate or graduate student with a strong passion for data analytics and experience working with database technologies. As a Data Engineering Summer Intern, you will join a team dedicated to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of data pipelines, architecture, and visualizations.

Desired Skills:

  • Team software development using Agile practices with strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively

  • Familiarity in data processing and understanding of big data architecture

  • Familiarity of SQL and experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases

  • Familiarity with PowerBI and ability to develop visually appealing data visualization dashboards for business and technical users

  • ​Familiarity with PySpark and Databricks and ability to develop data pipelines, transformation, integrations

  • Familiarity with web development technologies such as Angular and Typescript

Responsibilities:

  • Work on developing/modifying data pipelines, designing and developing data transformations, and data integrations using PySpark on the Databricks platform

  • Collaborate with other team members to develop scalable data pipelines and data architecture designs to support the company’s analytics platform

  • Develop and maintain database scripts and queries on PostgreSQL to support advanced analytics use cases

  • Work on developing interactive data visualizations using PowerBI that business and technical teams will use

  • Participate in sprint planning sessions and assist in defining project requirements

  • Develop and maintain documentation on design, implementation, troubleshooting, and other relevant processes

  • Follow coding and documentation standards and participate in code reviews to maintain code quality

Tech Stack:

PySpark, Databricks, PostGreSQL, PowerBI, Angular, Typescript – all deployed to Azure cloud

Basic Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.

  • Must graduate on or after Spring 2025.

  • Must be a US Citizen, permanent resident or be an MS student with work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for masters-level students)
