WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You will be collaborating with the Engineering manager, the Product Manager, other Engineering team members and with a variety of dedicated Nike teammates. You will join a highly motivated team that will be a driving force in building Data and Analytic solutions for the Marketplace & Consumer Domains in Nike Technology.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Nike has embraced big data technologies on cloud based data platforms to fuel data-driven decisions. We are looking for a Data Engineer to keep pace. As a Data Engineer, you will work with a variety of dedicated Nike teammates and be a driving force for building first-class solutions for Data and Analytics. The ideal candidate will have programming experience, very good data skills, be comfortable with ambiguity and will enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other relevant fields of Study with 3+ Years of Relevant Experience
  • 3+ years’ experience developing Data & Analytic solutions
  • 1+ Years experience building data lake solutions using one or more of following: AWS, Databricks, DBSQL, EMR, S3, Hive & Spark
  • Experience with relational SQL
  • 1+ Years Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python
  • Deep knowledge of Cloud based data platforms and architecture
  • Has a strong problem solving and analytical mindset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to quickly pick up new programming languages, technologies, and frameworks
  • Experience with source control tools such as GitHub
  • Experience with any of the Cloud computing platforms and Data Engineering
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum Methodology
  • Has a passion for data solutions

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

  • Build small, well-defined, reusable components of a larger process or framework to support analytics products with guidance from experienced peers
  • Build well-defined components that support the implementation of product features in collaboration with business and Technology stakeholders
  • Solve straightforward data management issues to improve data quality
  • Clean, prepare and optimize data for ingestion and consumption
  • Support the implementation of new data management projects and re-structure of the current data architecture
  • Implement simple automated workflows and routines using workflow scheduling tools 
  • Understand and use current continuous integration, test-driven development and production deployment frameworks
  • Participate in design, code, and test plan reviews to increase knowledge and application of best practices
  • Analyze and profile data for designing components of a scalable solution
  • Troubleshoot complex data issues and perform root cause analysis to resolve product issues
