Data Engineering Lead

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineering Lead to drive our data initiatives, serving as a cornerstone of our team. As a pivotal figure, this role will orchestrate the delivery of innovative technical solutions, driving tangible value for our enterprise client. This person will have full accountability for nurturing and empowering the team in the delivery of a state-of-the-art data platform with a modern data stack.  

Key Responsibilities: 

• Participation in medium to large-scale client engagements.  

• Leading the delivery of innovative and engaging data engineering solutions.  

• Understanding of business and technical requirements, provision of subject matter expertise and implementation of data engineering techniques.  

• Conducting data discovery activities, performing root cause analysis and making recommendations for the remediation of data quality issues.  

• Putting good organizational and time management skills into practice, with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple complex projects under defined deadlines. 

• Managing the business relationship with clients by building trusted partnerships and understanding their business needs and challenges  

• Supporting the HTEC leadership group in identifying and opening new business opportunities by participating in critical meetings, advising on project proposals, presentation, and negotiation. 

• Taking significant responsibility and overview for the career development of people under your management 

• Monitoring team satisfaction and engagement through regular one-on-one conversations and implementation of action plans for improvements  

• Ensuring team scalability through people development and by setting expectations on recruitment efforts  

• Training or hiring project leaders to take over some parts of project management, customer relationship, and/or delivery management.  

• Helping others arrive where you are now: being an excellent mentor and actively participating in the development of new Engineering Leads  

• Fostering a culture of trust and leading by example  

• Actively collaborating with all intercompany departments such as Talent Acquisition, HTEC Experience, Finance, Legal, etc., to ensure all processes run smoothly.  

Required Qualifications: 

• A BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or other related, quantitative fields.  

• At least 4 years of relevant professional experience.  

• Experience in leading teams, team building skills and ability to guide junior team members.  

• Experience in Data Warehouses and/or Big Data and/or Cloud.  

• Good knowledge of Data Management and DWH concepts.  

• Working experience with leading ETL tools.
