Data Governance Product Director
Job Description
As a Data Governance Product Director within the Engineering and Architecture Product team, you will serve as the client’s advocate in Solution Design and in advancing the discovery and delivery of client-centric product features. Your role will involve collaborating with our clients and our colleagues across Engineering, Design, and Information Architecture to ensure the successful delivery of client-focused, scalable solutions. You will identify opportunities and maintain a client-centric perspective on product strategies and roadmaps, ensuring that all deliveries prioritize the client’s needs.
Representing the CIB Chief Data Office (CDO), you will need a comprehensive understanding of the CDO’s overarching Data Governance and regulatory-driven outcomes, client challenges, and potential areas for improvement. You will communicate crucial product-related developments, decisions, and issues back to the CDO and other stakeholders, simplifying complex information into understandable updates, suggesting action plans and recommendations, and engaging with our solution design and delivery backlog.
Job responsibilities
- Collaboratively oversees the product roadmap, vision, development, execution, risk management, and business growth targets
- Leads the entire product life cycle through planning, execution, and future development by continuously adapting, developing new products and methodologies, managing risks, and achieving business targets like cost, features, reusability, and reliability to support growth
- Coaches and mentors the product team on best practices, such as solution discovery, market research, storyboarding, mind-mapping, prototyping methods, product adoption strategies, and product delivery, enabling them to effectively deliver on objectives
- Owns product performance and is accountable for investing in enhancements to achieve business objectives
- Deliver Data Governance solutions across several work-streams – to include Data Lineage and Data Quality, Data Cataloging, Data Modeling. Delivering metadata management capabilities; whilst ensuring integration services across various parts of the CIB metadata ecosystem.
- Drive objectives, key risks, and metrics to measure the success of the Governance product.
- Develop user journeys and related artifacts that help communicate persona-based experience, and document business process modelling activities for future reference
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 8+ years of experience or equivalent expertise delivering products, projects, or technology applications
- Extensive knowledge of the product development life cycle, technical design, and data analytics
- Proven ability to influence the adoption of key product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
- Excellent interpersonal relationships with ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior management, partner with internal partners, and leverage internal resources.
- Experience developing, tracking, measuring, and improving OKRs and driving to outcomes; experience with building, launching, and operating client-facing API or integration capabilities; deep understanding of developer experience needs, API usability and layering
- Experience with complex data mapping and integration patterns across multiple internal legacy and cloud systems, lines of business, and vendor systems
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Recognized thought leader within a related field
- Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization
- Experience in financial services or SaaS data platforms is preferred
- Prior product solutioning and delivery experience working in a Data Governance or Data Management related role
