To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC. com The US Data Management Office is responsible for establishing data as a strategic asset for CIBC US Region, further enhancing data governance, building out our data and analytic capabilities, and developing the US Region data management strategy. Our strategy is to leverage data and analytics to build competitive advantage to enhance our client focus.

What You’ll Be Doing This key position is responsible for operationalizing data risk and reporting requirements to ensure robust data governance practices and compliance to US Region data policies, standards, and processes. How You’ll Succeed Client Engagement- Partner with cross-functional risk and control teams to manage data-related risks, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives Leveraging Technology- Design, establish, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and control metrics specific to data-related risks, facilitating proactive risk management and reporting.

Strategic Minded- Conduct ongoing assessments and reviews of data governance controls to ensure their effectiveness and compliance with policies/standards and regulatory requirements Data Risk Identification- Support the operation of the Data Risk Assessment Program by identifying, evaluating, and consolidating comprehensive data risks and needs across the US Region. This role involves collaborating with Assessment Units throughout the US Region, analyzing the Risks and Needs Survey results, and synthesizing findings into clear and actionable reports. Data Risk Mitigation- Contribute to the evaluation of control group reviews for data risk associated with third-party engagements, technology initiatives, and change initiatives.

The US Data Governance team is responsible for assessing each initiative for data risk utilizing the Operational Risk Taxonomy and recommending control mitigations to reduce risk levels to an acceptable threshold. Control Performance- Implement and operationalize key data governance controls tailored for the US Region, ensuring they are integrated into daily operations and decision-making processes.

Committee Ownership-Take responsibility for maintaining meeting materials for data governance forums, including preparing and distributing agendas, taking detailed minutes during meetings, and ensuring timely dissemination of action items to participants. Who You Are You have a degree/diploma in accounting, finance, Information Systems, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in financial services or Data Governance You’re Innovative and Technologically Inclined.

You seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies. You can easily adapt to new tools and trends. You have a strong technical acumen, including proficiency in PowerBI, PowerAutomate, PowerApps, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with AI technologies.

Stellar interpersonal, communication (oral and written) and problem-solving skills, including effective engagement with all levels of the organization, including senior management, You’re self-driven and self-sufficient. You are self-directed and self-driven with strong analytical, logical, reasoning and problem-solving skills.

You are data driven. You have a broad and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of banking operations and data governance concepts (DCAM preferred). You are risk-oriented.
