The tribe Data Management NL

Together with data owners and data stewards in the organisation, we ensure that data is defined, can be easily exchanged, the data quality is monitored, and the data lake is set up according to security and privacy standards. We capture data from all business lines, prepare, process, and deliver the data on need-to-know basis to important users like Finance, Risk, Investments, Mortgages, Analytics, ING Group and more. Our teams (product team) are located in The Netherlands and Romania and are working closely together with the Belgium Data Management tribe.

Your Area – Service & Operations

For our area service and operations, we are building data products to provide insights into the customer experience management, complaints registration and customer experience surveys on complaints management to enable the bank to deliver superlative customer experience to our retail customers and meeting with regulatory and compliance obligations. We intend a fundamental improvement in the data products so we can use all available data to deliver the customer experience that is most relevant, both for the customers and for ING.

For our area service and operations, we are building data products that support the mobile led strategy, help create more operational margins, improve Customer experience.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Data Management Expert with a passion for data, knowledge, and who has experience in a data driven environment, to take up to role of data management expert, and help us ensure that our data becomes optimally aligned with business and consumer requirements by a timely delivery of the right data.

Roles and Responsibilities

You work with all kinds of stakeholders for the squad:

  • You align with the business stakeholders the scope of the data that needs to be delivered (System of Record to the data users), you facilitate and contribute to workshops with stakeholders (data stewards, data users, analysts, data engineers, etc.)
  • Data Sourcing teams: You act as a subject matter expert regarding data delivery (data profiling, data mapping, analysis, and data governance)
  • Data Modelling: You model the data based on the consumers requirement and design conceptual & logical data models that serves the consumption demand.
  • Data steward: you capture the requirements for data quality, data privacy and other relevant aspects of the data in the DataMart. You test the data on all those aspects, and you safeguard the consistency and quality of the data in the Datalake.
  • Architects: Datalake design to and the implementation of new solutions is according to the target architecture
  • Product Lead, engineers, and business: You pro-actively participate in the incident management process of the squad on what is the issue, defining the and together find a sustainable solution for resolution of the issue

As a tribe we work actively on improvement of our processes. As a Data Management Expert you participate actively in these initiatives. While people in our area are located in multiple countries, you will be based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Engineers in the team may be based in Bucharest (Romania), you are willing to work in a cross functional, cross border team of various skills.

Your profile and skills

Do you have a previous experience in data management and are you a great communicator? Are you familiar with the concepts such as product discovery, UX Design, prototyping, user testing, Master Data Management, Data Migrations, Data Governance? If so, we’d love to hear from you. Through your expertise of end-to-end data flows within a complex IT architectural landscape, you will define requirements, processes and controls that guarantee complete and correct data our of multiple data sources is available to different data consumers.

Having a passion for data and championing the principles behind data management is key to being successful in this role. Through your contribution, you will be enhancing the data management framework of the area service and operations and the data management tribe, while driving & influencing the global data policies across ING and its subsidiaries.

  • Solving complex IT/Data problems and challenges;
  • You are passionate about data discovery, prototyping and designing innovative solutions.
  • Through your Data Management knowledge and experience you will help to define/improve/enhance the way in which data is gathered, controlled and processed by the Data Management
  • You will define Data Democratization processes so that the Data can be used efficiently and consistently
  • You are responsible for analysing the data requirements, developing the governance framework and controls across the E2E chain for the use of data in products and services
  • You are always looking to optimize and automate processes and data, knowing how to include quality by design
  • You simplify solutions and processes in a complex and fragmented IT landscape and tell the story clearly to various internal & external (to data management) stakeholders;
  • You stimulate cross-border interaction and alignment between people, Tribes, Product teams, consumers
  • You  are capable of refining stories in a straightforward and executional way to optimize velocity;
  • You give and ask for constructive feedback;
  • You build the bridge between business and IT.
  • You have knowledge of data and data bases
  • Understanding and experience with delivery pipelines and CD/CI
  • Understanding and experience of UX design concepts
  • Passion for continuous improvement and shift left
  • Strongly Analytical
  • Experience in a banking environment is a plus
  • Understanding of business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in English (verbal and writing).

ING offers you a job from 36 to 40 hours that fits in with the times of today. We take into account your home situation and your ambitions and help you to balance work and private life. Therefore, you will work 2-3 days from home and 2 days in the office to meet with the team and stakeholders.
