Summary: The Data Modeler role at Onbe is pivotal in crafting high-performance, scalable data models within our Snowflake environment. This position requires a keen understanding of how data models impact and facilitate the work of Power BI developers, ensuring that data is structured in a way that optimizes reporting and analysis. Collaboration with data architects, engineers, and Power BI analysts will be key to aligning data architecture with business intelligence goals, without directly involving in Power BI development.

This role is a hybrid role that will work onsite 1-2 days per week at our Dallas, TX location. Occasional travel may be required as part of this position.  #LI-Hybrid

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement effective data models in Snowflake, optimizing for analytical and operational reporting needs.
  • Leverage Azure Data Factory for streamlined data integration and workflow automation.
  • Understand the requirements of Power BI development to ensure data models are optimized for reporting and analysis, without directly engaging in Power BI dashboard or report development.
  • Employ code repositories for version control and documentation, adhering to standard methodologies in data management.
  • Advocate for standard processes in managing large datasets, applying star schema and other techniques to maintain data integrity and performance.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide data modeling solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Lead the exploration and adoption of new data modeling tools and technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7-9 years of experience in data modeling, specifically within a Snowflake environment.
  • Solid understanding of Azure Data Factory for data integration.
  • Knowledgeable about the requirements and impact of good data modeling on Power BI development.
  • Proficient in managing code repositories (e.g., Git) and following version control protocols.
  • Prior experience working in Enterprise Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Expertise in data modeling standard methodologies, particularly star schema, for large datasets.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of collaborating with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Prior FinTech, prepaid card experience.
  • Exposure to multiple cloud platforms.

The base salary range for this position is between $139,050.00 to $162,225.00, with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, business needs, and market demand.
