The role
This role is key to fueling the engine of our AI research and development. You will operationally manage human data collection campaigns, taking research requirements and translating them into action. You will collaborate with vendors to set-up, launch, and maintain data collections that enable model development and evaluation. Your focus will be on the continuous delivery of high-quality data for our research and model development needs, ensuring alignment with our responsibility and ethics principles while driving efficiency at every step.
You’ll be joining and working with direction from a collaborative team of (Technical) Program Managers working across our diverse Data functions. 
Key responsibilities:

Data Collection Setup: Define data collection requirements, identify appropriate data sources and vendors, and establish clear project scopes and timelines.
Vendor and Rater Management: Collaborate with first-party and third-party human raters and data vendors, negotiating contracts, ensuring adherence to quality standards, compliance and ethics requirements, and data security protocols. Set up communication cycles to ensure quality.
Stakeholder Management: Liaise between research, engineering, and external partners, communicating project progress, resolving issues, and managing expectations, including educating research and engineering teams on options for data collections.
Data Collection Monitoring: Oversee ongoing data collection activities, ensuring data quality, consistency, and adherence to ethical guidelines. Build and send weekly reports on running workloads and spend, and host regular capacity reviews, to support effective research prioritization.
Administrative support and documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data collection projects, including methodologies, protocols, and results.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and optimize data collection processes to improve efficiency and scalability.

About you
In order to set you up for success in running data operations at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:

Bachelor’s degree or relevant industry experience in operations and project management.
Industry experience in a related field.
Experience working with external vendors and contractors.
Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Proficiency with project management tools, data analysis software, and/or data annotation tools/ platforms.
Passion for AI and a desire to contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $87,000 – $133,000 + bonus + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
