Data is the building block of ING’s “Accelerated Think Forward” strategy and its vision to become the Next Generation Digital Bank. We are looking for a “Data Product Owner”, a Data Management Specialist who will support and execute data management activities for the new data platform. You’ll oversee the end-to-end delivery of your Data Products, interfacing closely with the business to support and prioritise Data Product features, provide inputs into defects / incidents and enhancements requests, analysis to fulfil data governance requirements, evaluate data integrity, data quality and escalate to leadership teams as required.

The role is a key pillar within the tech function, enabling the execution of the Bank’s data governance framework, to ensure sustainable data management practices leading to well defined, consistent, and high-quality data that aligns to our purpose of helping our customers and our employees get ahead in life and in business.

What you’ll do…

  • Data Strategy and roadmap by providing a clear vision for the scope of data product.
  • Responsible for raising the standard of metadata management processes to ensure proper use of data being read, created, collected, reported, updated, or deleted.
  • Work with the Business SMEs to define business metadata, data quality and integrity requirements.
  • Facilitate business sign-off for data element definitions as per design principles and standard.
  • Support the execution of data management activities including the data councils.
  • Act as a gate keeper and ongoing management of the data product and identifying, prioritising, and resolving data and data quality anomalies in the Data Product.
  • Ensure compliance with policy and procedure documents including group Standards of Practice.

What we’re looking for…

  • Strong data analysis and manipulation skills including excellent knowledge of SQL.
  • Understanding of data architecture, Data (ETL) processes, data modelling, data analytics and/or visualization.
  • Demonstrated experience in business facing roles from banking or financial services.
  • Experience with the tools to support data engineering, data visualization and data governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results for the business through a combination of strong interpersonal and technical skills.
  • Demonstrated experience is leading conversations with technical and senior stakeholders to highlight requirements, issues or gaps.
  • Thought leadership to best utilize resources and tooling to drive business deliverables.
