SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a Data Product Owner, Compliance to lead the fulfillment of compliance obligations on behalf of the carriers we serve. Success for the Data Product Owner, Compliance on SageSure’s Business Intelligence team means ensuring comprehensive compliance and regulatory adherence through accurate and sound reporting.
What you’d be doing:
- Develop, implement, and manage an effective compliance program, aligning the product roadmap with compliance needs and business objectives.
- Prioritize compliance tasks, address team inquiries, and oversee project workflows in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with company stakeholders, technical teams, and external authorities to seamlessly integrate compliance into all operational aspects.
- Translate complex regulations into actionable plans, articulate requirements for both technical and non-technical audiences, and draft/revise comprehensive compliance documentation.
- Proactively audit reporting, design test plans, direct control tests, and implement robust internal controls.
- Stay abreast of evolving regulations and industry best practices, document new compliance requirements, and enhance SageSure’s data quality framework.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Experience in meeting compliance demands in the insurance industry.
- Understanding of SQL, data structures, and proficiency in reporting and visualization tools.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address complex issues and find innovative solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and carrier partners.
Highly preferred candidates also have:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, data science, economics, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in data analysis, reporting, business strategy, or a related role.
- Experience in the Insurance industry, specifically within Property & Casualty.
- Experience working on an Agile team and conducting ceremonies.
- Related professional certifications (e.g. Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)) are a plus.
