Data Science and Advanced Analytics Platform Manager

Salary circa £80,000

If you are passionate about leveraging data solutions to drive business insights and you enjoy solving data challenges through technical enablement, then this role is for you! We are seeking a talented data professional to join our team as Data Science and Advanced Analytics Platform Manager.

In this role you will lead and develop our growing Data Science Platform, supporting multiple Data Science toolsets and over 3,000 Data Science users across Aviva. In an increasingly data intensive world, the Data Science and Advanced Analytics Platform allows business teams to unlock actionable insight and models, driving successful business outcomes on a self-serve basis.

This position requires a minimum of 2 days per week on-site in Norwich.

A bit about the job:

Working within the Data & Analytics function in Aviva IT, you will:

  • Partner with business Data Science teams to promote and grow our Data Science and Advanced Analytics capabilities.

  • Keep pace with advancements in Data Science approaches, tooling, and capabilities to aid development of the future roadmap for the platform.

  • Lead and develop the Data Science and Advanced Analytics Platform team, ensuring skills and methodologies match business need, and shaping and developing the platform team for success.

  • Support effective change delivery through the platform, building high quality, timely solutions for our stakeholders.

  • Ensure operational effectiveness of the Platform, keeping it stable, performant, and secure, and protecting our data.

Skills and experience we are looking for:

If you are passionate about data and have experience of successfully supporting business teams in their adoption and use of Data Science and Analytics tools, then we would love to hear from you. You will have:

  • The ability to successfully engage with a broad range of stakeholders, including senior leadership, to drive business capability and outcomes.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts in an easy-to-understand way.

  • Experience in implementation and use of tools such as Dataiku, Posit, Sagemaker and Gen AI offerings (Code Whisperer, AlphaCode, GitHub CoPilot etc)

  • Knowledge of best practice in Machine Learning Ops, and the associated processes required to support.

  • Strong leadership capabilities, developing highly engaged, skilled, and productive teams.

  • Starting salary circa £80,000 (depending on skills, experience, and qualifications)
