Job Description:
As a Data Science Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects related to data analysis, machine learning, and emerging technologies. Your primary responsibilities will include:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct data analysis using various tools and techniques to identify patterns and trends
- Utilize statistical methods to analyze large datasets and provide actionable insights
- Design and develop machine learning algorithms for use in predictive analytics and reporting
- Validate data and identify challenges that could potentially affect model performance in real-world applications
- Train, retrain, and monitor machine learning systems and models as needed
- Work on projects as needed to support the data team in development of BI reports and data pipelines
- Collaborate with Data Team to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of data
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be currently enrolled in a full-time, degree seeking program, with a focus in data analytics, business analytics, or related field
- Familiarity with SQL and dashboarding tools like PowerBI
- Exposure to Python, Java or R
- Strong math skills, with a good understanding of probability, statistics, and algorithms
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Exposure to data requirements gathering process
- Experience with Microsoft Azure data warehousing

- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods of time
- Primary work environment is professional corporate

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Gorbel, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $20/hr
