About Internship Program
This internship will run from from July 1, 2024, to August 30, 2024, for a consecutive 9 weeks on full time basis.
Yahoo will be prioritizing applicants who have a current right to work in Taiwan, and this internship position is not available for Yahoo’s visa sponsorship. Participants must be located in Taiwan throughout the duration of the program.

A Little About Us
The Taiwan team develops and operates 30+ websites and mobile apps including Homepage, News, Finance, Entertainment, TV Lives, and Commerce; providing premium digital content to millions of users every day and helping us dominate in the TW/HK market. The team pioneers and provides solutions and technologies in machine learning, recommendation and personalization, information extraction, knowledge graph construction and management, and information retrieval. Our team’s work has a direct impact on the quality of various products and services at Yahoo.
A Lot About You
Interns are expected to work with our research engineers to apply scientific thinking and techniques to improve the performance and effectiveness of our products, as well as retrieval system engineering. You might also need to perform metrics analysis for further model enhancement and build up a fast prototype to demonstrate the algorithm. You will have the opportunity to publish your work and expand the horizons of web science and the experience of building online systems.
Your Day
You are expected to work with our AI engineers to apply scientific thinking and techniques to improve the performance and effectiveness of our products, as well as retrieval software engineering. You might also need to perform metrics analysis for further model enhancement and build up a fast prototype to demonstrate the algorithm. You will have the opportunity to publish your work and expand the horizons of web science and the experience of building online systems.
Requirements:

Currently enrolled in an accredited higher education institution and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field

Enthusiastic about artificial intelligence, machine learning, and Generative AI, backed by some level of expertise or coursework.

Proficient in Python programming, capable of producing tidy and effective code.

Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries like OpenAI, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn is advantageous.

Good communication and collaboration skills to work with people from a variety of technical background and geographical locations
