The Globalization Data Science and Engineering team is at the forefront of removing language barriers and providing a stellar member experience to all our members regardless of their language preferences. We are responsible for the translation and cultural adaptation of all aspects of member interaction, including beautiful localized user interfaces, subtitles, and dubbing of award-winning Netflix originals.
We are looking for an experienced data science and analytics leader to lead a team of experts in the fields of Causal Inference, experimentation and analytics. You will primarily partner with a talented cross-functional team of scientists, engineers, product managers, and domain experts to optimize localization strategies and improve localization experience for global members of Netflix.
Responsibilities

Drive Causal Inference, experimentation and analytics projects end-to-end to optimize localization strategies and improve localization experience

Lead, mentor and inspire a team of data scientists and analytics engineers to consistently deliver business impact

Develop deep domain expertise in member and creative problem areas for localization at Netflix, as well as broad industry landscape, to identify and propose new strategic opportunities

Build strong relationships with cross-functional partners to inform, influence, execute and support longer term visions

Grow data science and analytics innovations in your space, and upskill the broader team
About you

Proven track record of successfully designing and delivering data science and analytics projects in highly ambiguous and complex business areas with scalability requirements

High proficiency in Causal Inference and standard tech stack (Python, SQL)

Master’s or PhD degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering or other relevant fields

6+ years of hands-on data science and analytics experiences (3+ years with a Ph.D. in relevant fields)

1+ year of experiences mentoring and leading data scientists and analytics engineers

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong business acumen

Familiar with software engineering best practices

Experience working in algo-driven member-facing business areas

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $360,000 – $920,000.
Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
