Summary of Position:
As a Data Scientist, you will work directly with clients, managers and technical staff to understand business needs, develop technical plans, and deliver data-driven analytical solutions that solve client problems. You will primarily create and deploy predictive models from a wide variety of data sources and types using the latest mathematical and statistical methods.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to work on-site for 36 hours during a typical week
- TS/SCI with CI-Polygraph
- Experience supporting the geospatial intelligence mission space
- Work collaboratively with data scientists, business consultants, and software engineers to create and deploy dynamic data applications that help our customers make meaningful business decisions
- Represent Data Science needs in the development and deployment of robust data pipelines and end-to-end systems
- Represent Data Science needs in every stage of the engineering lifecycle, from ideation and requirements gathering through implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
- Provide leadership and coordination for certain stages of the data science lifecycle as needed
- Perform other technical tasks as needed, including writing project reports, managing, implementing, and/or maintaining technical infrastructure, etc.
- Ability and the willingness to tailor applications to a client’s business goals using an iterative methodology
- Ability to consider both long-term stability and scalability while taking a user-focused approach to development and deployment
- Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing to teammates and clients
- Ability to work independently in a collaborative, dynamic, cross-functional environment
Desired Skills
- 3+ years experience in data science role or graduate degree in related field
- Experience with Python, Java, Scala, Familiarity with R O/S: UNIX, Linux, Solaris, ssh, git
- Experience with Data manipulation, SQL, relational databases, and/or NoSWL databases including tools such as Hive and Elastic Search
- Experience working with some (not all required) technologies: AWS/C2S, NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, HBase, Cassandra, Accumulo, Neo4j, etc), Caffe/TensorFlow/Keras, etc, Hadoop, Spark, Pig
- Familiarity with commercial and open-source data science software
