Data Scientist

Mission

Kingfisher is seeking a Data Scientist for a confidential Department of Defense client. Client mission includes:

  • Leading the Department’s strategy and policy on data, analytics, and AI adoption, as well as governing and overseeing efforts across the Department.
  • Enabling the development of digital and AI-enabled solutions across the Department, while also selectively scaling proven solutions for enterprise and joint use cases.
  • Providing a sophisticated cadre of technical experts that serve as a de facto data and digital response force able to address urgent crises and emerging challenges with state-of-the-art digital solutions

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain dashboards according to user requirements
  • Collaborate with data engineering and functional resources to build performant applications to support requirements from the procurement, FM and other communities as needed and approved by CDAO leaders
  • Designs, configures, develops, tests, and supports informatics and data science solutions for a wide array of technical use cases;
  • Applies analytical methodologies to diagnose data-related challenges, implement solutions, and evaluate performance;
  • Documents and presents requirements, design alternatives, and findings to team members and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to develop strategic, baselined, data modeling processes; ability to accurately determine cause-and-effect relationships; and
  • Experience with integrated development environments, data integration, data visualization, data mining, and analysis tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • Experience writing and presenting technical concepts to various audiences

Years of Experience:

  • Five plus (5+) years of experience in Python and EQL; Apache Spark experience is highly desired.
  • Five plus ( 5+) years of experience developing dashboards using Qlik or Tableau.
  • Minimum two plus (2+) years experience with contracting or FM data sources

Degree Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or higher

Minimum Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance

Location: Hybrid (2-3 days per week on-site) Falls Church, Pentagon, Alexandria, or Arlington
