We are currently looking for a Mid Level Data Scientist to work with one of our key clients, a Telecommunications household name!

Your day to day

You will be working in a vibrant, fast-paced environment, so you can never expect to have just another typical day at work. Sometimes you will feel out of your comfort zone, but you will probably never feel bored! 

As part of the team, you will work with Solution Architects, Developers, Data Engineers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and QAs to ensure the validity of work. You will also liaise with clients and stakeholders as part of a project team. You will be using the latest tools, techniques and methodologies.

On any particular day you will be doing several of the following:

• Extract and analyze data to drive innovation, optimization, and process automation.
• Working closely with stakeholders to improve product development and business strategies.
• Break apart problems scientifically, interpret data with a clear objective in mind.
• Form hypotheses and validate. A/B test newly developed solutions and compare them with legacy approaches.
• Communicate results and ideas to key decision makers, providing insights and findings to both technical and non-technical partners

Requirements

Your professional expertise

In order to be considered you need to have:

• 3+ years of experience manipulating data sets and building Machine Learning Models
• Master’s Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math or another quantitative field
• Strong experience using statistical computer languages, preferably Python, and query languages like SQL.
• Great knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques and experience working with Artificial Intelligence libraries (like XGBoost, H2O, Scikit-Learn, Tensorflow, Keras).
• Experience with Cloud Services (preferably Azure Databricks / AWS).
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud and Apache Spark will be considered a plus.

In essence, you have the necessary skills to:

• Have a keen eye for detail, prompt problem solving capability and self-motivation.
• Form hypotheses and validate. A/B test newly developed solutions and compare them with legacy approaches.
• Being a creative and strategic thinker, having the ability to work comfortably in a group setting.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
