Description
We seek a talented and highly motivated Data Scientist to join our newly formed AI team at Hazelcast. In this role you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and leverage data sources to solve product and business challenges that will help to shape our firm’s strategy. You will use data to identify opportunities, focus product development and ensure value delivery. As a Data Scientist, your work will provide data-driven insights that will form the core of our approach to optimising our product development, analysing and understanding user behavior, thereby guiding strategic decision-making. You will be a highly effective communicator able to marshal your analysis to craft compelling data stories to influence decisions.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build, curate and maintain databases from a variety of internal and external sources of structured and unstructured data.
- Analyse data and generate statistical information to identify trends, patterns and outliers.
- Understand the phases of product delivery and provide expert analyses across product life cycles, running the analysis for each stage and contributing to decision making.
- Translate technical data to simple language and give recommendations and conclusions to stakeholders.
- Develop interactive dashboards that combine visuals with real-time data.
- Build scalable machine learning pipelines and use feature engineering and optimisation methods to improve dataset performance.
- Work with our engineering, marketing and sales teams to integrate and separate data feeds to map, produce, transform and test new scalable datasets to drive product development.
- Create AI algorithm prototypes and run tests to benchmark AI model performance.
- Analyse data gathered during tests to identify strengths and weaknesses of deployed products.
- Implement changes to algorithms to improve AI model performance.
- Document all steps in the data and analysis and development processes.
- Keep up to date on the latest innovations in AI and technology
WHAT YOU HAVE
- PhD, or Masters degree in a relevant field of study (preferred in a technical field such as statistics, economics, mathematics, physics or engineering)
- 2 years of professional experience – ideally in a Data Scientist, Software ot Engineering role.
- Demonstrable Experience and knowledge of Python and Java in the context of data science proof of concept in on-premise and cloud workspaces.
- Strong understanding of several different families of statistical and machine learning models and their uses, for example:
- Natural language processing, LLMs and RAG.
- Experience in data visualisation and presenting data in graph or pictorial format.
- Proficiency in designing algorithms and using statistical and problem-structuring methods.
- Ability to clean and validate data to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
- Ability to use linear and non-linear regression, logistic regression, models and classification techniques for data analysis, clustering, dimensionality reduction, k-NN and pipeline.
