About the role
As a Data Scientist you’ll use your high level of creative thinking and ability to analyse data to propose innovative ways to view problems and validate findings through an experimental approach. Collaborating with stakeholders across the business, you’ll design and support the application of machine learning, statistics and advanced analytics concepts and models to extract insights from datasets.

A day in the role will see you:
- Work closely with Data Engineers, Architects, Analysts and Business Intelligence developers to improve understanding of the impact of new or changed findings and results
- Provide recommendations on improvements to algorithms that can potentially lead to new findings
- Prepare data and visualisations that informs constructive business decisions
- Conduct deep dive analysis and data reports on ad-hoc strategic issues, including tests of ‘cause & effect’ hypotheses
- Modify and create scripts and queries to satisfy ad-hoc analysis and reporting requirements
- Present ideas and findings to internal and external stakeholders with different level of technical knowledge
Sound interesting? Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines and MLOps. Internally we use Azure DevOps, and Databricks.
- Ability to work with varied stakeholders in an Agile environment
- Strong programming skills in analytics packages such as R or Python
- Proven skills in Predictive Analytics and Machine Learning, data analysis, discovery and preparation skills using SQL
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation of data analytics and/or evaluation methods for business improvement
- Proven skills in statistical analysis including regression analysis and statistical modelling including technique such as GAM, GLM, mixed-effects, Bayesian.
- Tertiary qualification in mathematics, statistics, or computer science or a related field, or a sound understanding gained from experience accepted as being professionally equivalent
