About the Role

 

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Own our end-user-applications and model prototypes which are the basis for future developments and the single source of truths
  • Support our actuaries in their analytical tasks through the development of pricing models and parameterizations
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams and other teams to integrate your outputs into solid digital solutions
  • Ensure that state of the art data science concepts are used for data extraction, preparation, transformation and model development
  • Connect with internal and external clients, acquire business knowledge to achieve accurate data interpretation and anticipate the client’s needs regarding data acquisition

Our team is an empowered tech counterpart for our business units, responsible for the design and implementation of inventive data projects. We develop new analytics capabilities and improve Swiss Re’s risk assessment capabilities, which is large part of the role besides owning the end-user-applications and prototypes of our risk models. Joining us, you will learn not only how insurance premiums are modelled and how data analytics can enrich business but also the technologies that are used in modern data science products with a focus on cloud technology and distributed systems. You will gain experience in risk assessment and deal pricing through your direct involvement in the business.

 

About You

.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who can be effective leaders with functional and operational expertise. You must be a good communicator who builds trust-based relationships within the squad and amongst partners.

 

If you possess traits and experience that match most of the below, we’d love to hear from you:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or related quantitative field. We welcome different levels.
  • Knowledge of any programming languages, e.g. Java, Python and/or R
  • Expertise in machine learning, statistical modelling and related technologies
  • Good communication skills to synchronize tasks, clarify requirements and delivery expectations with business partners

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 2300 EUR full time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group. You can look forward to extra rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
