Data Scientist and Analytics Specialist

The Team:
The Data science and analytics specialist will be part of the Marketing Analytics and Insight team. This team is part of the marketing operation, and works in close partnership with cross functional teams including the broader go-to-market organization, marketing and sales organizations. As the engine and oil of our marketing machine, driving efficiency, optimization and smooth operations.
The Position:
The Marketing Data Scientist will be responsible for applying advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze and interpret datasets, driving insights that will shape marketing strategies and campaigns. This role requires a blend of strong analytical skills, marketing knowledge, and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will be able to translate complex data into actionable strategies that enhance customer acquisition, engagement, and retention
The Work You’ll Do:
- Data Analysis and Modeling: Analyze large and complex marketing datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can be used to optimize marketing strategies. Develop and implement predictive models to forecast marketing performance and customer behavior.
- Customer Segmentation: Use clustering, classification, and other advanced techniques to segment customers based on their behavior, preferences, and demographics. Develop targeted marketing strategies for each segment to improve campaign effectiveness.
- Marketing Attribution: Develop and refine multi-touch attribution models to measure the impact of different marketing channels and campaigns on customer acquisition and retention. Provide insights on the most effective marketing mix.
- A/B Testing: Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and other experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, offers, and strategies. Provide recommendations based on test outcomes.
- Machine Learning Applications: Apply machine learning algorithms to solve marketing problems such as churn prediction, customer lifetime value (CLV) estimation, and personalized marketing. Continuously improve models based on new data and feedback.
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing teams to understand their goals and challenges. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to optimize marketing strategies and drive business growth.
- Data Visualization: Present findings and insights in a clear and compelling manner through data visualizations, reports, and presentations. Communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Tool and Platform Management: Utilize and manage tools and platforms for data analysis, modeling, and visualization (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI). Stay current with new tools and technologies in data science and marketing analytics.
Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in data science, marketing analytics, and machine learning. Apply new knowledge to improve marketing data science practices within the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s or Ph.D. is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in data science, with a focus on marketing analytics or a related field. Experience in a B2C or B2B marketing environment is a plus.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
- Strong experience with SQL for data manipulation and extraction.
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their applications in marketing (e.g., regression, decision trees, clustering, neural networks).
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present insights.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and big data technologies is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into business-friendly language.
