Data Scientist Degree Apprenticeship 2024

Due to the continued success of our Degree Apprenticeship programme we are thrilled to confirm we will be opening up another two Data Science Apprentice opportunities to join our September 2024 cohort.

This offers a combination of academic learning and practical experience, enabling you to kickstart your career in the dynamic field of data science while earning a degree.

What does a day in the life of a Data Science Degree Apprentice look like?

As a Data Science Degree Apprentice, you will embark on a comprehensive learning journey that integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience. Throughout the program, you will work alongside experienced data professionals and industry experts, gaining valuable insights into real-world data challenges and solutions.

You will also pursue a degree in Data Science, equipping you with the academic foundation necessary for success in this field.

Please note that there will be a 4 day/1 day split between working in the office and your studies.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and identify data-driven solutions.
• Collect, clean, and pre-process large datasets for analysis.
• Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to extract actionable insights from data.
• Develop data visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Participate in ongoing learning and professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements

Whether you’ve recently left school, have workplace experience, are self-taught, or perhaps you’re looking for a career change we are open to your application, however we do ask for the following:

• You must either be based in Milton Keynes or within a 30 minute commutable distance from Milton Keynes (this is due to the 4 days a week on-site mandatory requirement)
• A passion and interest in all things data, tech & innovation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Any knowledge of Python or similar tech stacks are advantageous

Please note you are only eligible for Apprenticeship funding if you have:

• Been a UK/EU/EAA resident for at least three years before the programme starts
• Left full-time education before the programme starts
• The right to live and work in the UK

Apprentices without Level 2 English and mathematics will need to achieve this level before taking the End-Point Assessment.
