About this role
Job Purpose/Background: Are you passionate about analyzing complex data sets to solve challenging problems and generate insights? The EMEA Wealth Data Science team at BlackRock harnesses the power of data to inform client relationship strategies and drive business growth. In this position, you will have the opportunity to leverage your analytical skills to innovate how the EMEA Wealth business goes to market and builds client relationships. You will be involved projects along the full data science spectrum, from obtaining and processing data to selecting models and delivering effective data visualizations.
This position will be based in Budapest as part of the EMEA Wealth Data Science team.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Engaging in data exploration, cleaning, and preprocessing to prepare data for analysis.
- Providing ongoing maintenance and support for our tactical data warehousing tool, including troubleshooting and incremental improvement.
- Partnering with central data engineering teams to manage and oversee the architecture of databases and data storage to facilitate efficient data access (Snowflake).
- Writing quality maintainable code that is comprehensively tested and fit for the intended objective.
- Interpreting data and analyzing results to provide actionable insights, including using predictive models and machine learning to automate processes and predict future trends.
- Contributing to the prioritisation of data science projects undertaken by the team and defining the team’s technical roadmap.
- Collaborating on complex deliverables with other data scientists in our global offices.
Skills / Competencies:
- Knowledge of data analytics, data science theory, techniques and tools and experience working with large disparate data sets.
- Strong knowledge of Python for data scientists (e.g., pandas), traditional Machine Learning and deep learning libraries (e.g., scikit learn, xgboost, TensorFlow, Torch, etc.); Data manipulation languages (e.g., SQL); Data visualization / presentation skills (e.g., Power BI).
- Flexible, self-motivated approach to problem solving.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present findings to a non-technical audience.
- Fluency in English is required for the role.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in data analysis, data science, machine learning, or a related field.
- Experience with sales data a plus.

Our hybrid work model
